Nobody can take a person named Dirk seriously...especially if you've seen Boogie Nights. This is also a negative name for being, because some d-bag I knew in college just decided one day to call himself Dirk.

Tough guy name that's kinda cool. An actor's name really. The sort of name you'd change to if you had a crappy name to start with.
