I know this movie got panned a lot but I liked it. Jack Black was good as "shallow Hal" whose dying father drugged out on morphine told Hal as a boy that looks were everything and he should only seek out those girls. Hal who is probably a "5" wants a "10" he of course bombs terribly with these so called 10s who want no part of him. He meets tony Robbins on a elevator and he hyptnotized Hal into seeing women for who they are on the inside instead of the outside. soon he sees a woman who he see's as slim and beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow is the beautiful Rosemary who is actuall about 300pounds. they strike up a kinship and start dating. he gets uhyptnotized thanks to his even more shallow friend who does not see why he would love Rosemary. Hal does not recognize Rosemary as she actually is. after the misunderstandings he realizes who Rosemary is and you can guess the ending. I thought this was a sweet movie.and got that you should like someone for their personality that their looks. others may have been offended by this movie, I liked the movie. Jack Black, and Gwyneth Paltrow were fine as the leads.

You just have to love Jack Black and Gwen Paltrow in this movie. The storyline was quite hilarious and the cast was brilliant.
