when stolen bases mattered

3.5, a slightly overrated player by many. He wasn't a great fielder, didn't walk much, didn't have great on base percentage, and while he had some power, he didn't have all that much. On the plus side, he stole tons of bases, broke the Wills mark for single season steals, held the all-time total before Henderson broke that, was a legendary postseason performer, generally had good batting averages, and accumulated over 3,000 hits. Worthy, but again, often overrated.
