A ferocious pitcher with a terrifying fastball, and an even more terrifying mean streak. I've never seen a pitcher intimidate batters like Gibson. The only pitcher since who has come close in this department has been Clemens, but he's not a patch on Gibson. An absolute rock solid Hall of Famer. In some alternate baseball universe, Ty Cobb digs in at the plate against Gibson. Gibson looks in, stares at Cobb, and starts his windup.I don't know what happens next, but it ain't gonna be pretty.... And somebody's probably leaving on a stretcher.UPDATE:The guy also deserves kudos for an intellectually honest answer about the steroid issue. Essentially, he said that players looking for some kind of edge has always been in the game, and that had performance enhancement drugs been available when he was playing, he'd probably have used them. His words were echoed by Mike Schmidt, and made a refreshing change from the pontificating we usually hear on the issue.

There are 261 names on this list, and probably at least a third and maybe as high as say 45% are no brainer 5 star guys who belong, making them harder to comment on or say anything different about, or debate their inclusion in any serious way IMO.Including this extremely talented and tough competitor, a monster pitcher.
