A very powerful slugger, like a bear at the plate or something. Drew a lot of walks and bashed plenty of homers. One of the most feared sluggers of the 60's, and hit almost 600 homers. Won an MVP award and helped The Twins to a pennant and 2 other playoff appearances. Killebrew was slow, and not a great glove. The knock on him is that his lifetime batting average was only in the .250's, but there are 2 things to consider. 1: the era in which he played in was a pitcher's era, with low ERA'S AND LOW BATTING AVERAGES. 2: low batting averages do not necessarily indicate that a player isn't productive, Killebrew drew a lot of walks, hit a lot of homers, and knocked in a lot of runs. Sort of a prototype in a sense for all of the Kingmans, Adam Dunns, Rob Deers, etc, but easily the best of the type.
