Thoroughly deserving, and one of the great managers- even if one acknowledges that he indeed had the horses with the Yankees,with Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, etc... he still won lots of pennants and Series. Plus, he took the Cubs from a mediocre at best outfit in the 20's to N.L.champs in'29, and came damn close to winning pennants in Boston in the late 40's after he was with The Yankees.

A pretty strong case can be made that this guy is the best manager all-time. He's certainly no worse than third.
