 | caphillsea77 (32) 05/24/2006 | Greg Nickels is a fairly good mayor, definately better than his predecessor Paul Schell. He's got a lot of progressive ideas and is very pro gentrification as he is a big proponent of the South Lake Union transformation, cleaning up the U-District and has big plans to redevelop Northgate and I'm sure he's eyeing a lot of other property around the city. This can be a good thing but one thing to consider is this may just inflate Seattle's cost of living to the point where long time residents will be pushed out of the city and follow the same trend as cities like Boston and San Francisco which have become beyond expensive.
