I can only rate the 86 proof version as I can't find the 100 version around here. The 86 was surprisingly good. It was a bit dark and leathery than I like but it was enjoyable in spite of those characteristics. I will try the 100 if it ever makes an appearance in my area.

I'll let you in on a secret. Old Forester 100 proof is one of the highest rated Bourbons regardless of price. It stands alone right up there with the expensive brands. It won't empty your wallet and it's great for sipping, shooting or mixed drinks. I rate it the #1 best value out there.
