 | irishgit (155) 05/12/2008 | I'm with Franks here: define Improper sexual misconduct as opposed to Proper sexual misconduct.
Personally, I always figured it was Proper sexual misconduct if it was dirty and fun....

 | cyclee (22) 05/12/2008 | AIDS is caused by the HIV virus. Many people do not understand that the act of homosexuality does not cause AIDS. The only disadvantages there is to the "improper sexual misconduct" is that it provides an easier route to spread the virus, provided that one of the participants is infected by it. That also says the "proper sexual conduct" does not protect you from contracting the HIV virus, thus this statement has no scientific value and is only based on her belief. Also, the HIV virus is believed to be originated from other primates. Regardless whether the fact to this origin of HIV virus is correct or not, we do not simply "create" a virus in our body from nothing. Therefore we cannot blame the improper sexual misconduct to be responsible of AIDS. Maybe one can argue that by eliminating this act can slightly subdue the transmittence of this virus.

 | fitman (51) 05/11/2008 | She's apparently a very cold hearted person, but there is a grain of truth in what she said. Throwing out basic rules of hygiene is obviously a dangerous thing to do. Of course, many who contracted HIV got it with dirty needles, others were innocents who were infected by transfusions, etc. so her anti-sex bias is obvious.

 | GenghisTheHun (179) 05/11/2008 | Well, let's see now. Evolution designed the old wazoo as a vent to evacuate bodily waste, but some mopes decide to use it as a sex organ. Evolution designed sex organs to another place on the human body. The act in the old wazoo provides an entry point for a deadly disease. Hmmmm!

 | lmorovan (19) 05/11/2008 | I see nothing wrong with this statement. It equivalent to "cancer of the liver is the just retribution for improper use of alcohol" or "death sentence is the just retribution for improper use of freedom". Worth remembering that AIDS was cataloged as a sexually transmitted disease at first. The sharing of needles by infected drug addicts, the birth of a baby of a mother who had AIDS, etc. are the additional consequences of certain misconducts.

 | continual (0) 03/17/2006 | Taking out her value-laden words, this statement says, "It is the result of sexual conduct." Ultimately, this is true, since that's both the initial and the major cause of AIDS. It's the blame aspect that gets us ("just retribution"). Thank God that in American society, blame and punishment is determined by lawful human authorities.
There is another side to this issue though. If there is a "higher authority," isn't it mainly to help bring relief to human suffering? Don't think for a moment that Mama T. would have witheld that relief no matter how sinful the victims. I wonder whether our great, conservative Protestant leaders would be there beside her in that effort.

 | Vudija (100) 03/17/2006 | That's a terrible thing to say! You'd think with as much as she had seen, shed know that it's not only affecting people who participate in what she believes to be, "improper sexual misconduct". It can affect anyone, especially now that more and more people are being diagnosed with it.

 | Donovan (141) 03/17/2006 | Inappropriate comment! There are many victims of this disease including children and blood transfusions. Concerning sexual misconduct.... I serve a God who loves and forgives.
