New Jersey isnt Basketball-crazy, but it is very strong as a State that produces Basketball players. Wierd thing is, Rutgers, the State University, doesnt benefit enough from this. New Jersey has strong Hoops teams at the HS level esp. in North Jersey. South Jersey produces it's share of players though. In Jersey, BBall is probably #1 even though Football at the HS level produces a lot of quality players. Interest in the Sport gets divided at the Pro and College level by neighboring teams from Penna. and NY , where many Jersey kids go. The Nets have a team in Jersey, but dont have the following to match a strong Five-Star interest. Still Jersey likes BBall. Princeton even plays good Basketball.
