Farting itself isn't a bad habit, but barking one out in a crowded elevator is.

And demonstrating you're ability to play the Brandenburg Concerto on your colon might have amused your frat buddies, but it loses a certain cachet in the real world.  

I don't know if I'd call it a habit, per se.  But good etiquette should be practiced when nature calls.  The party afflicted should be discreet.  Whenever possible they should vacate the area before the offense not after.  When that is not possible exercise a little restraint.  I also helps if you can do it in a manner that leaves it undetectable as to who actually cut the cheese.  This causes everyone to pretend that they didn't even notice it, for fear of being identified as "he who smelled it..."

Its natural and NOTHING to be embarassed about :D..

Farting is completly natural. Not a habit, but something we need to do to stay healthy. If your digestive system is working properly your going to get gas. So yeah im with zuch. If your gonna let it go, at least get a safe distance...

A habit is something you can control. Shopping too much, drinking, and lieing are bad habits. Farts just happen. Of course farting inappropriately could be a bad habit, but farts in general are just a function of nature.

It's not a bad habit, If you do it in front of your date time and time again, then yes. It's only natural, If you did not fart, you would blow up like a blimp and explode, men fart, girls poot.  ( I had to write this..LOLOL)

What won't wash with me is when someone says, "Mine doesn't stink."

I heard somebody say one time that they never did it.  Lying's a bad habit, too.

Flatulence is a perfectly normal body function that everyone does.

bad habit? nah... i can understand it being irritating to others, but live with my stomach for a year or two, and see how well you do at holding them in on the way home from a restaraunt.

Let's face it, this is an unavoidable fact of life. If you are alive and you eat food, drink a little beer, you are eventually going to rip one off. The bad habit is not the farting itself but the inability or lack of self control. There is a time and a place for it friends.

There are some strange definitions of "habit" on this list.

Yes, it is a bodily function, but so is ejaculaiton, if you ejaculate in public, I'm sure SOMEONE will take offense.

I will not argue that there are times where it is unavoidable, but even though it is a bodily function, there is a mature way to handle it.

If you're just watchin' the game with the guys, let it go, but be aware of your audience.
