 | drkseph (5) 01/06/2008 | Sometimes lying is necessary for the greater good. Like lying to a drunk person so they dont do something stupid. Sometimes lying is unnecessary and innappropriate and usually ends up complicating things and hurting someone. Use your own discretion when deciding to be deceptive.

 | irishgit (155) 09/13/2007 | I have had two careers which required me to lie for a living, and help others do so. (politics and advertising)
As a result I gained a deep respect and requirement for honesty and honor in my personal life. There had to be some place where the truth mattered, and equivocation was not the norm.
So while I can lie with absolute adroitness, I will not do so (outside of my occasional recidivist forays back to the old careers)and I have little tolerance for being lied to.

 | CanadaSucks (50) 09/13/2007 | Almost always an incorrect decision or action- but it's fine for consolidating power in Washington, D.C.

 | GoinDownSlow (31) 09/13/2007 | I say polygraphs for everyone.
"I am not gay". Right...polygraph. "I have never had sex with that woman". Gotcha...polygraph. "I did not say I'd invade Pakistan". Okedoke...polygraph. "Bottled water is good for you". Nah, no need for a polygraph, you're to stupid to pass it anyway. "My client is innocent of all charges and will agree to a lie detector test". Yep...polygraph. "Polygraphs are notoriously unreliable" *same lawyer after "innocent" client fails polygraph*

 | wires (2) 06/06/2007 | Nah lying just confuses matters. Just say it how it is...most of the time the things that people usually resort to lies for a solution often don't need any added complications. KEEP IT REAL!

 | BlueOrchid (44) 04/23/2007 | I don't like it when people lie, it's like a big slap in the face. It is a hard habit to break though.

 | 928S4GOD (0) 03/16/2007 | Lying is sometimes necessary.
Read a transcript of any negotiations, or watch poker.
Also what comes into effect is the purpose of the lie' if it is for a higher purpose then your ends really can justify such an action.
