Here we have a great song covered by many about a young Australian horribly maimed in the bungled Gallipoli invasion in WWI. I like the version by Liam Clancy and Tommy Makem. I have a new Australian group I found and you can listen to the group sing this song on my profile page.

The Youtube version is by one of the Clancies, Liam, and Robbie McConnell.

A fearsome song, written by Australian folk singer Eric Bogle I believe.


Details the horrific experiences of the ANZAC forces at Gallipoli and Suvla Bay, when the British High Command had them butchered, with their usual callous disregard for colonial troops.
