 | GenghisTheHun (181) 01/18/2008 | I think that this was a one hit wonder by a band called Coven. It was the theme of the flick, Billy Jack, a counter cultural hit in the early 1970's. It was not particularly anti-war, but because of the times, it was considered anti-war.

 | irishgit (155) 04/23/2007 | Pretty heavy handed lyrics, and the music isn't all that compelling.
Its association with the stinkburger Billy Jack movies keeps it to 2 stars maximum.

 | PlanetaryGear (54) 03/18/2006 | I always liked this song. Heh... I even liked the Billy Jack movie it appeared in. I knew a girl who was in choir, who could belt this out like nobodies business. I always thought it would be cool if a modern vocal talent like Lean Rimes or that cheeseball, Mariah Carey, would do a remake of it. The lyrics are pretty straightfoward and powerful, and are tailor-made for an over-the-top female vocalist.

 | Drummond (60) 03/17/2006 | I was annoyed with this song as a kid, but I never really listened to the lyrics. The lyrics are about a fictional ancient battle with somewhat heavyhanded irony about the motives of war. But the lyrics have an elegant delivery. I'm surprised Coven, the one hit wonder band, didn't have more to offer.

 | oscargamblesfro (82) 02/16/2006 | The theme from the movie "Billy Jack," a minor anti-war hit from '71 from a forgotten Midwestern band named Coven, that put out three albums around the turn of the 70's.
