Really, really awesome burgers. I mean seriously, this is about the best non Kobe beef burger you can get. They do a nice job. They have once called the coronary that comes with an egg and bacon on it. I did not get this one.

Vortex has a huge beer selection, and is sort of corporate alternative. The waitstaff and bartenders are duly tattooed, but you can tell the place is a chain.

I found it to be an exceptionally nice crowd. I wandered in there to get a bite while stranded in Atlanta (after first sticking my head into the grim, corporate corporate Gordon Biersch next door), and within an hour, two people had started talking to me and bought me drinks. It's a college or just post college crowd - I talked to a senior at Georgia State, an engineering grad student at Tech who was developing a video game, and a kid who had a computer repair shop and was a part time actor.

Great burgers, great selection of beers and a nice atmosphere. the ole Midtown restaurant was the best, but the new one in Midtown is still better than the one in Little Five Points. No matter where you are from, you should be able to find some memorabilia from a hometown beer on their walls.

Vortex carries a good selection of food and a great environment. The menu itself is a piece of comic art as well as the wall mountings. Food is great and price is reasonable. Good place to hang with friends.
