Yes, he had a good offensive line. Yes, he had good (great) recievers. But Joe's numbers in the playoffs and Super Bowl(s) do not lie. . .the bigger the game, the better he was. . .and his toughness has been often overlooked and underrated. . .

Joe Montana deserving of being a member fo the Pro Football Hall of Fame? Are you kidding? There is a reason why he and the great Johnny Unitas were chosen on the NFL's 75th Anniversary Al-Time Team. Simply, Joe Montana was the most intelligent quarterback ever to lace-up his cleats- and definitely the greatest quarterback during the games which counted most, as well one of professional football's greatest in its unforgettable moments. Moreover, Montana was simply the greatest at the clutch, as few others could match his ability to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Anyone remember the 'Drive to Glory' against the Boomer Esiason led Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII with 42 seconds to go, or 'The Catch' to Dwight Clark against the mighty Cowboys during the 1981 NFC Championship Game? Joe Montana is definitely deserving of his place in Canton, Ohio.
