I'll have to remember to keep a stack of consent forms in my night stand drawer.

I always make a practice of getting my partner to sign a waiver release before chaining her to the wall and spanking her...

Disclaimer: Whips and Chains, thorns, whatever don't excite me so ya'll can put away your leashes.
Who cares? Pay your bills, do it missionary once every four months, whatever... but does someone hanging upside from a chandelier in their bedroom while dressed in a tutu and using a paddle on their partner really impact how you live your life? Seriously.

In response to this comment below: "If you want to beat your wife, and she wants to be beaten,go for it." That's a very immature & dumb answer to this subject to condone a man beating a woman Ignatius-J Reilly. Just because she asked for it doesn't give a man the right to beat on a woman. It would still make him look bad. Obviously you are no man & you need serious professional help. There are different levels of S&M & the problem on this issue is that the demands progress onto more & more serious inflictions on the body due to these sick experiments.

Not for me,but it's nobodys business what other consenting adults do in private.

If it is taken too far (ie. 'beating your wife' because she asks you to, then NO, 'consensual' is NOT the key word. I can give someone the consent to shoot me in the head or burn my house down, but it would still be a felony, (and should be.)

In most states, it's legal, even "professionally." In major cities "dominatrixes" open up commercial "dungeons" and charge $200.00 per hour to whip butts. They take out half page ads in newspapers, and many of them even accept credit cards. But I have heard of jurisdictions in which the activity, even consensual, is illegal. I remember reading about some prosecutions in England somewhere, but I don't know the details. There might be issues of degree. I suppose a legal ambiguity can arise if you partake in "advanced play" where there is no "codeword" (a word the submissive says that puts an end to the session). If there is a codeword understanding ahead of time, "no" can mean yes. But if there is no codeword, the dominant is taking some legal chances because generally speaking under the law "no" means precisely "no." There might also be legal issues of degree, ie. the law may not recognize consent to a serious injury, assuming that anybody who would consent thereto is mentally ill and thus incapable of consent. Updating to ask Feschelola - so is it actually illegal to have intercourse in a public dungeon? See, in California, that wouldn't be illegal per se, unless of course there was money exchanged for the genital contact. I suppose if the dominatrix offered it as a bonus, for no money, it would be legal - although if I was advising her as an attorney I'd tell her it's in her best interests to keep them separate, and that if she's really pining for the guy, stop the professional session, don't charge him, then take him home and do whatever. That's after I yelled at her for calling me at 2 in the morning.

The "S" part is easy...it's the "M" part which brings a tear to my eye.
