What a disaster... I feel for Lindsey, because you know that fateful jump was the kind of jump she would land 99 times out of one hundred (with the board-grab or not).

Jacobellis made herself a goat and not a hero by celebrating too early in her race for gold. She still won the silver medal, and I give her credit for how she conducted herself during interviews after the race. However, the chance for a gold medal is so elusive, and she managed to lose it when it was already in her sights.

Seriously, people should lighten up on her. If you look at her training runs, near the end--she does the same thing after the final jump, just successfully. It is a move to stablize her board after such a jump. And, hey, she advanced in her races and still won a silver medal for the United States of America.

FOOLISHNESS! She shouldn't have been on this list. She had her gold locked up and using a move to show that she is the one, she landed on her hinie and lost it. Clearly she is a great example of always giving your best all through competition and having an idea of seriousness when competing. For her, she has rewritten the agony of defeat.
