The Battle of Cold Harbor (May 31-June 12) was a continuation of the 1864 Overland Campaign lead by Grant in Virginia. In this battle Union Forces numbered 106,000 while Confederate troops under Lee numbered 62,000. Grant would launch several assaults on the rebel fortifications, each being repulsed. At the end of the battle the union army had suffered 14,000 casualties while the confederate army had suffered only 2,500. Cold Harbor was Lee's last major victory.
