 | DoorGunner (18) 03/06/2006 | They're overpaid government workers that can't be fired. How do you expect them to act? Like they appreciate your business?

 | BugahaNE (19) 03/06/2006 | Kind of hit and miss, good and bad experiences. You would think though they'd be a little nicer and care more about their job, considering it's a state job and they most likely are grossly overpaid. Not too many jobs out there anymore that pay this well with just a high school education.

 | HistoryFan (100) 02/24/2006 | I can understand how DMV workers can be irritable; they're dealing with people who are pissed off that their license was suspended for one too many points for speeding or some 90 yr. old blind/deaf dinosaur who still thinks he can drive.

 | oscargamblesfro (81) 02/24/2006 | They're a bit better than they used to be, at least in my experience. It's gotten a bit more efficient of late. When I first got my learner's permit, I made a small mistake on the application and had one 679 year old nasty evil crone who looked like Inspector Hanes from those old underwear commercials chew me out for a while. It's just as bad in Indiana, when I moved here I of course had to convert my standard driver's license over to a tractor operator's...

 | Jed1000 (74) 02/23/2006 | I think most people walk into the DMV/RMV expecting a bad experience and probably project that attitude onto the employees to some extent. My own experiences there have been no different than my experiences dealing with any other government bureaucracy, like the Post Office or the courts or the police.

 | 93century (38) 02/22/2006 | I always say to people that the local DMV station will get gunned down one of these days. The police have been called there a few times. I could just imagine watching the local news right now brodcasting live from the crime scene with the news hellocopter. The DMV has a rule that people must keep their children still, and quiet (not running around) while waiting in line. I strongly support this rule. If i worked there, bratty kids would cause me to get grumpy too!

 | Molfan (60) 02/22/2006 | well they seem to like to hire someone who has a nasty streak who is assigned to take your picture for your drivers license. at least for a few of my pictures. some of them sure had a mean streak, wait for the worst look possible and then snap the picture. In our state I think enough people complained because now they have to wait for the person to be ready and give them a couple choices. thank goodness, one of my pictures looked like I had been on an all night bender and i do not even drink.
