Turns out they busted her out of a Hospital. They were pointing guns at doctors and nurses who were taking care of her.The "Heroic Rescue" hoopla was deliberate deception, intended to make people "feel good" about a war that's been a disaster from the get go.

They say the first casualty of war is the truth. And the government conjured up a whole myth around this poor young woman (poor in the literal sense as well). And the "liberal media" laps it up, and even liberal Hollywood cranks out a made-for-TV movie based on the myth. Then this poor woman speaks up to say it's not the way it happened, and sure enough she gets slammed by certain wingnuts as ungrateful. You know, during the Viet Nam war, there is only one incident of civilians spitting on veteran soldiers caught on camera. It was done by delegates of the 72 Republican convention against veterans who were there protesting the party's stance on the war. Updating for Canadasucks: I put the phrase "liberal media" in quotes as a term of irony. There is no such thing. Well there is, but it's very small.
