Yes their scoring was non-existant for three key games, and sure they could have selected a few younger faster brighter stars like Crosby and Speza. But the part nobody here in Canada is talking about is that the competition is excellent. The Russians are back to their old form and the Finns are poised to become a powerhouse. Perrenial contenders the Swedes and the Czechs had excellent teams. Even without Hasek, the Czechs have been solid. And when did Switzerland start playing hockey?

Like the US team, they got eliminated before even having a chance to play for a medal. Big disappointment.

I've seldom seen a team with so much talent deliver so little. Defensemen that looked like pylons, forwards that treated the puck like a live grenade, no leadership, and no heart. Three 2-0 shutout losses, and given their level of play, the scores flattered them.
