04/30/2006 | This isn't unique to Florida, but it does seem more noticeable there. In Tampa many of the richer subdivisions are gated, one it's within walking distance of a tent complex set up by transients.

03/13/2006 | I think more people should give of their time and money for important causes. Education, illness research or other worthy causes are usually top of the lists. Assuming that most wealthy people were not born into money; they should know what it's like, and you'd think they'd be willing to help those that are currently in situations that they have been in, in the past. 03/09/2006 | Here in Miami, it is astounding to see some of the most grinding poverty in the nation situated right next to multi-million dollar condo projects. That demonstrates the huge gap here between the rich and the poor which is quite disturbing.
