Most of these are due to either 1) ciggarettes being tossed from car windows, or 2) campfires or trash burns that are not being monitored. I live in this area, and during dry season, I probably am having to think about what to pack at least once per week. There are always, at least, small brush fires nearby, if not large scale destructions. Even worse, I now live by a mulching yard (it's on my street), which can never seem to manage its grounds. This place has already had 3 small fires this year, and it's not even the height of the season.

A recent one near my house was started by someone burning a stolen car in a field of dry bushes. During the summer, most fires are started by lightning--those are the ones that are really heavy and hard to control.
