 | BugahaNE (19) 04/30/2006 | Alot of people who have not been to Florida do have a false idea what it looks like. It isn't the Caribbean or Hawaii, with orchids and palm trees blowing in the breeze. You'll only find coconut palms in Southern Florida. Most of what you'll see is scrubby palmetto palms and pine trees, what's left anyway. There are some beautiful forests in Central and Northern Florida if you search them out though.

 | Vudija (94) 03/13/2006 | I don't know, when you think of Florida; this image of a beautiful and colorful paradise comes to mind, until you actually come here. The plant life is just boring and aside from the diversity, there's nothing colorful about it either. It's very plain by most standards, unless you like over-developed areas that show no regard to the environment or anything that would be affected by it.

 | abichara (62) 02/25/2006 | Much of Florida's native plant life was cut down by the timber companies about 100 years ago, and the forests were replaced with non-native species. There used to be a lot of diversity once, but unfortunately, much of that is gone.
