03/22/2006 | Tool at their finest.This is an incredible band,capable of subtlety and bombast and everything in between within not only an album but in one song.Not many bands can shift gears as smoothly and each member has the sonic aptitude to carry over diffucult changes and well crafted nuance without a hitch.The rythym section here is second to none,with some of the finest drumming and basslines I've heard anywhere,Metal or otherwise.Yes,their music is dark and as disturbing as their videos-but it's all about catharsis.
