i cannot even imagine why i ever thought playing in that stuff was fun. i hate being cold and i dread winter every year. though occasionally the kid in me comes out and i throw a snowball and i pray no one throws one back.

I would have rated it lower, but seeing as how I've never actually seen snow; I wouldn't know whether or not I'd eventually become annoyed with it. I'd LOVE to see it at least once in my life though.

Snow is still thrilling, exciting and just plain fun to this 21 year old. Perhaps I just haven't grown up yet? ~_^

I enjoy it not only for its natural beauty, but its rarity and the excitement among its arrival--such as the rush for milk and bread and the long-form weather coverage.

As a kid (in common with all kids, I guess), I loved snow, especially on the mornings when we were supposed to go to school and there had been a snowstorm the night before. Like Death-Row inmates listening for the Governor's phone call, we'd wait in breathless anticipation for the town's fire-alert siren to go off, signifying that school had been called off for the day (not sure that they do that in the same manner anymore). We then had the luxury of playing outside all day, liberated from the drudgery of school. Then, as an adult, I was driving to work in a snowstorm one day (on Rte. 287, not far from Morristown, NJ), and my car suddenly and unexpectedly fish-tailed in the snow, and I swerved directly into the path of an 18-wheeler. All I can say, to those facing a comparable situation...there was no time for fear or panic in those few seconds. I saw the truck looming up toward me through the car window and I can remember clearly thinking, "I'm going to die now. Time to cash in the chips." Thankfully, I had my seat-belt on (I swear by them to this day), the truck driver had seen me start to swerve and had had the good sense to start applying his brakes before the crash actually occurred, and I guess the Grim Reaper decided he (or she) wasn't yet ready for me. Even so, my car was totally destroyed, and it was as close to death as I ever want to come (until, of course, the day I actually die; although unhurt, my knees buckled as I walked up to a nearby rest stop to call the police). For a year or 2 after that incident, regardless of the weather, I would immediately tense up anxiously anytime I drove up alongside a truck, responding like some shell-shocked war veteran. Since then, I look upon the coming of winter with dread and trepidation. I avoid driving in snow at all costs. Still, for all that, I can occasionally get nostalgic for a cold, wintry snowstorm when I don't have to go anywhere and can plant myself in front of the TV with a stiff drink, a warm blanket, and maybe even a pretty companion...

I still like a good snow, especially at the holidays. I don't miss it 4-6 months out of the year, but here in TN if we get any its an inch or two and everyone freaks out! (With the exception of the blizzard of '93)

This was an early clue that I was now an "adult"...suddenly,I found myself digging out my car to go to work instead of staying home from school and having a snowball fight. What a drag! But a few years later,I enjoyed the snow all over again with my Neice and Nephew.

I still enjoy snow, downhill and cross country skiing, tobogganing, skating on the river trails that wind through our sity. Then again where I live the ground is snow covered for a solid four months of the year, so I'd better enjoy it.

When you're a kid snow is fun. It means a day off from school, sledding, snowballs, playing in the snow etc , etc, etc. When you get older snow is just a nuisance. It keeps you from getting to work. It's difficult to drive in, you bundle up for the cold, you must get food from the supermarket and you have to shovel it from your walk and to clear your car etc, etc, etc.....
