Too bad there's no "zero" or "less than zero" ratings on this board. This slimy sh*tpile was one of the most dreadful and dangerous criminals in the history of the United States. The only problem was that he was also the FBI Director for a half century. He was just so-so in fighting the early 1930s crime wave, as it took years for this to subside. He refused to admit that organized crime existed until 1957, despite the fact it was obvious that such was flourishing for decades. Maybe because the Mafia had photos of the old drag queen dressed up, the closet case, albeit tough guy he postured himself to be, was intimidated into silence. He totally mishandled the Red Scare of the late 1940s and early 1950s, and thus contributed mightily to the general public hysteria that gripped the nation for years. And in the tail end of his sorry ass career, he was too busy snooping around the private affairs of people in the civil rights movement to pay much attention to his actual job, which was to provide security and order to the citizens who paid his salary and funded his sleazy bureau. A true hero of the conservative element. On the positive side, he was a devoted companion to Clyde Tolson, the true love of his life. However, he lived a lie, and despite the fact that it was so apparent these two were not in a dedicated professional relationship, but rather were hooked up in a fashion of "four hands on the piano, my tulips on your organ," the public was in total denial for fifty years. This bag of crap was so pronounced that when he died, it took two flushes to get rid of him.

I've always suspected the cross-dressing was something of an urban legend. That aside, this was a horrid and evil little man.

A cross dresser who couldn't even use a firearm. I'm not getting soft, I guess.
