02/26/2006 | Didn't McQueen die around this time anyway? Based on this list it's pretty clear he turned down some big films, though it doesn't seem to have hurt his standing.
An interesting counter- list might be one that looks at whether actors who came close to landing roles would have better or worse than those who got them. I still shudder to think that the studio executives lobbied hard for Ryan O'Neal instead of Pacino in The Godfather. Had they done that, and had I been an adult at that time, and even though I'm just a quarter, I'd have joined The Italian Anti - Defamation League IN A HEARTBEAT. Ryan O'Neal as Michael Corleone would have been sickening.
