How about just banning them in public places? I hate dealing with second hand smoke, but if someone wants to smoke in their own home, or maybe in certain locations designated for smoking, why should I care?

Yeah, I'm even a non-smoker and I think smokers have been getting the shaft. Quit screwing with them, I say!

Terrible FASCIST-NAZI idea...(Hitler was a anti smoking fanatic). Totally an idea that is a true assault on freedom and liberty. What should be done is to line up and summararily execute all these fascist, anti smoking fanatics.

though i dislike smokeing and don't smoke my self, that just seems unrealistic. You must have a death wish if you do that, and about half the voteing population or more are smokers, so you would get voted out. And even if you managed to stay in office after banning cigs, they would just sell them in back alleys and there would be an underground of them selling cigs. It happened when they banned beer too, the mafia took over the sales and made money and bought out every thing, owned the police ect and made crime rates rise. Nice going Gov. Instead make more programs to raise awareness of what smokeing does to your health, and make more school programs for this. You can't solve all the problems by simply banning them.
