 | Jed1000 (72) 03/19/2007 | I've only seen a few bits from her shows but I'm willing to grant that she's one of the classic comedians.
I was disappointed to read only yesterday that she is suing the makers of "Family Guy" for $20million for an 18second homage they did to her "charwoman" character. Trademark infringement or some such thing. I think that's sad and rather venal. She should have taken it as a compliment and left it at that, in my opinion. Seems she's just as greedy as anyone else.

 | bri719 (9) 03/18/2007 | one of the best, way ahead of it's time. I was almost too young to remember it in it's heyday, but was just missing this show the other day.

 | disgust4PCness (19) 11/08/2006 | Overrated.
Burnett and Conway just don't do it for me with their style of humor...and it isn't limited to this show. The only thing that either one of them did that I could handle was Conway's efforts in the Disney movies with Don Knotts (Apple Dumplin' Gang, No Deposit / No Return, etc).

 | SharonParry (42) 10/25/2006 | Oh, I love Carol Burnett. She could play most any type of personality and always with a sense of humor added to it. She was great!

 | VirileVagabond (32) 10/08/2006 | Not quite a five-star series, but "The Carol Burnett Show" was in many ways the precursor to "Saturday Night Live". The skits on "Burnett" incorporated contemporary issues, popular personalities of the day, and referenced well-known books, movies and themes, all relatively family friendly. While there is certainly a place for edgier adult comedy, there is also a need for cleaner entertainment, and the cast of this show had the right chemistry and talent to pull it off. (I personally preferred the Tim Conway and Harvey Korman bits.) With fewer duds, "Burnett" arguably beats "SNL" on that score.

 | Diedre (3) 06/17/2006 | What a classic! So many celebrities who were funny and so many skits. Carol's opening of the show with questions was great. Loved the fun and guest stars.

 | leftfinger (2) 04/26/2006 | Good chemistry between all the cast members. Tim Conway would always make the others crack up in the middle of a skit with his ad-libbing. Fun show.

 | X Factor Z (13) 03/17/2006 | It is hard to hate Carol since she was born in San Antonio like me!!! This classic show was great, much better than the passe reality shows nowadays like that gawd awful American Inventor!!! I especially liked Vicki Lawrence as mama, and that was developed into a really funny sitcom in the early 80's.

 | roscoe97 (0) 03/05/2006 | When I watched it years ago, it was my favorite show. I liked mama's family on there and also Tim Conway. He was funny when he would get everyone laughing. I liked him a lot when he did skits with Harvey Korman. Those two were good together. I liked when Carol Burnett would crack up laughing at him during her death scene. Also, Vicki Lawrence was very good. I like her spin-off "mama's family." She's excellent in that show.
