 | PlanetaryGear (52) 03/22/2006 | When did Americans become such sissies? I do this all the time - The key is not to do it at stoplights, in neighborhoods, hospital/school zones, and other places where lame-ass squares are within earshot. Then it would be five-star annoying... I'm a bit of an audio geek, so I went and had some high-end audio gear fitted to my overrated Pontiac, but I also did the wise thing and installed a "kill-switch" for when I inevitably encounter civilzed society, and I have never had any complaints. I do alot of rural/interstate driving, and trust me... no one can hear you when you're doing 55/70 mph in the middle of nowhere and Pink Floyds is shredding away at whatever is left of your calloused eardrums. It's definitely bad for your hearing, but deaf people are capable of driving just fine the last time I checked. So, I can't rate this item very high, especially when compared to the other violations on this list.

This has been an issue in my town; especially when these drivers either miss screeching tires, horns, or sirens as signs to watch what is happening around them. There are enough threats to ones safety while driving; this shouldn't be one of them!
