I'm not afraid to tell people that I don't have a lot of income. I live paycheck to paycheck, and there's nothing to be ashamed about that. As long as I know I'm trying, then that's all that really matters.

Do I make a lot in unemployment benefits? You bet, I don't. (this economy sucks)

I am waaaay too honest about this! I worked for 17 years at my last job and made a horrific salary. I'm in publishing now and make a horrific salary.

If anybody cared enough to figure out my job and my educational level, my salary is public information. I've got no reason to lie about this.

There's two sides to this. One is when someone lies because they are making peanuts and they're embarrassed. The other is when they're making a ton and don't want anyone to know. Best answer for the latter is, "I'm doing okay" and let it go...Best answer for the former is, "Save my ass..."

Don't ask (because it's rude).

Don't tell (because it's nobody's bees wax).

Since this is info that I keep between my wife and myself, there is just no reason to lie.

Actually Stark you would be amazed at the number of wealthy people who are like that! Anyone who knows me knows I can't hide what I make, Im always too broke after bills to do anything really exciting.

Sure,on a date they make it higher,and at other times,they'll play it down.

I've told women I made less than I really do. . .I despise materialistic women. . .(the dating scene in DC is a battlefield). Lucky for me, I didn't have to lie to my future wife about anything. . .except for watching less football.

Nope, anyone of importance (family, friends who are potential roomies) know that all of my jobs have sucked both financially and in general. This is why I still live at home, I don't even lie about THAT ha!
