I don't think I have any major life interfering addictions...that being said I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO SHOP...IT'S FUN, and I do it well...

We are all addicted to one thing or another. Some addictions are good, some are bad. Nothing wrong in admitting it, except if we want to project an image of ourselves which is not the true one with the purpose of either deceiving or impressing others.

Ill tell you now,Im addicted to slim jims,sweets,soda,cigerettes,gossip magazines,life,fashion mags like Glamour and Cosmo,love,and probably a few other things Im forgetting..oh yeah and the computer lol.

Most people do not see what they are doing like cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, etc. as being an addiction.

Depends on the addiction. I wonder if this is one of the few arenas of life where the more widespread the addiction, the less socially acceptable it is. Mentioning your addiction to tobacco remains mildly cool ... to alcohol, just sad ... to porn ... wait, nobody ever mentions that ...

I've never had one, so I really wouldn't know if I WOULD lie about it. I'd certainly hope I'd be able to admit I had a problem, but I also know how it affects people (as I have seen others go through it) and I know how hard it controls some people. I could only hope that if ever I got mixed up in something that was unhealthy for me, that I'd be able to take a step back, evaluate it, and ask for help.

This subject matter is so sad, really. Most addicts of anything lie not only to others but to themselves. Not only destroying their own lives but doing so much emotional damage to their loved ones as well. Addicts that I've crossed paths with are very selfish people with all kinds of SELF PITY!!!! ~excuses, excuses, I'm really sick of hearing them~ They won't overcome it unless they admit it first and quit feeling sorry for themselves. CHOICE! That's what it comes down to.
