They do not care about their tenants. This becomes evident after only a week of living at one of their properties. They have a truly miserable office manager named Anne M. - getting a cavity drilled is preferable to speaking with her.Good luck getting any maintenance or repair after asking only once. One example (of many) - There was water leaking into my apartment so I called the emergency maintenance pager. No response after a week, so I try it again as by this point there is water damage which I mention. Still no response so during the day I reluctantly call Anne and have another awful conversation about the leak and the water damage. Another week goes by without anybody coming to take a look. Mold is now growing on the wall and the floor. The wood (hardwood floor) is now warped where there is now a tiny stream running across the hallway. 25 days after I first reported the issue, I stop by the office in person on my lunch break and show Anne pictures of what is happening to their property. I get another healthy dose of her famous negative attitude. The next day though, maintenance personnel finally visits my apartment, and 3 days later the issue was fixed. Almost a whole month for a water leak! When I first moved into the apartment it was filthy. I had to pay a cleaning person off of Craigslist $60 to give the place a once over before moving in.The only positive thing I can say about this company is that they are somewhat desperate for tenants. This allows for bargaining by the prospective renter, and the person who shows the properties that you end up bargaining with is not Anne, so its not so bad.

I wish I could say that the people at Singer Real Estate are honest, well-intentioned, and hard-working. Unfortunately, my experience so far (and that of my neighbors and fellow tenants) has indicated the opposite. When I was shown my apartment, the agent promised me it would be cleaned, and the holes in the wall repaired, before I moved in. It wasn't cleaned, and the holes were not prepared, even after I called maintenance and a guy came and inspected them. Similarly, one of my neighbors in this house was promised that her apartment would be cleaned and cleared (of old furniture, loose nails, and clutter) before she moved in. Again, this didn't happen. After several requests, they removed the desk. This neighbor has seen the temperature in her apartment drop over the past week to 60, then 50, 40, and now 30. Singer is very slow in responding to maintenance concerns, taking two days or more to respond even when their emergency number is called and the apartment, at 30 degrees Fahrenheit, is uninhabitable. Several months ago, another of my neighbors (in the same house, managed by Singer) had his apartment flooded with dirty water because of some plumbing problem. He too had to wait a few days before maintenance finally came to clean it up and repair the plumbing. From this pattern of broken promises and sluggish response to critical maintenance issues, I must regrettably conclude that the people at Singer Real Estate, by their actions, seem to be truly unconcerned for their tenants' comfort and safety, as well as their own integrity. I hope that they prove me wrong in the future, but I will not hold my breath.
