Possibly one of the very the best live albums ever released, this is vintage jamming from the Allman Brothers at the height of their prowess.Duane Allman and Berry Oakley were still around to kick ass on this gem.Duane was arguably THE best slide player EVER! There's plenty of raw emotion and energy in these recordings, and unlike some of their peers, the Allmans did "the Blues" justice.Just listen to "Statesboro Blues" or "You don't love me" & I think you"ll agree. They also show their versatality when they kick in to "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed",one of the most beautiful and tender instrumentals I can think of.Quality Stuff!!! As a footnote,I don't think the Allmans were the first band to featire two drummers:I believe the Dead were the first rock band to do that.

Strong blues and live jamming. This is the essential Allman Brothers captured live for eternity. It kicks and it rocks from start to finish. Duane must have passed out from exhaustion after this show.

No one had ever done this before . . .extended jams, dual guitar leads, multiple drummers, modernized blues riffs . . . and the Allmans did it with style and power. A live double disc set that doesn't let up from start to finish.

This is one of the greatest blues/rock live albums ever made. Recorded at the famed Fillmore East in 1971 at the peak of the Allman Brothers best playing days (before the deaths of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley). Highlights include: 'Statesboro Blues', 'In Memory of Elizabeth Reed', 'You Don't Love Me', 'Whipping Post' and 'Mountain Jam'. These concerts were jammin' man!!
