02/22/2008 | By far one of the greatest movies of all time. Jackson did a brilliant job of turning an amazing novel into an amazing movie. It's just too bad "Fellowship" and "Towers" didn't win the two years before.

11/07/2006 | I love these kind of movies. I don't really like fantasy, but this was almost like a fantasy meets fairy tale. It's somewhat a movie for all generations because everyone can watch it.

03/10/2006 | Cumulative award for all three films. . .the second one was the best for me, but still a solid Oscar film. . .a wonderful film with scope that isn't afraid to teach lessons and then thrill us ten minutes later. . .

03/10/2006 | I'm a Tolkien junkie, so I don't MIND this one winning, though I really actually view the trilogy as a whole, and am not sure which of the 3 was the best...leaning toward the 2nd part though.

03/10/2006 | It was an epic, a very modern epic.
However, I think it got so many awards, including Best Picture, because the academy kind of screwed up with the two earlies films. They really got screwed as far as the acting categories went, with ONE nomination in the acting field for all THREE films.
But anyway, yes it was somewhat deserving, but not of the 11 awards it got, far too many. There really wasn't a better film out there that year, depending on your viewpoint.
It was the best film that year, but compared to the other two LOTR movies, its my least favourite.
Now if the Fellowship got those awards, I wouldn't be as disagreeable.

03/09/2006 | It wasn't even the best of the trilogy, and there was other stuff out there much more deserving. It was a moneymaker and an "epic," so it had everything going for it.
