 | callitdowntheline75 (73) 03/10/2006 | Perhaps the biggest example of Oscar voter-foolishness/stupidity, it still amazes any moviegoer how a film about yuppies in suburbia (which 'Ordinary People' was) could beat out 'Raging Bull' which is often rated amongst the greatest movies ever. Most people cannot recall any scenes from 'Ordinary People'. Yet, anyone who sees 'Raging Bull' can recall the legendary physical transformation of Robert DeNiro from killer pugilist to bloated nightclub owner. 'Raging Bull' was akin to a howl from a storm drain to the seeming quiet superficiality which was the too ordinary 'Ordinary People'.
