 | GenghisTheHun (168) 06/04/2007 | This is o.k. but I hate the flashbacks that are typical for late 1930's and 1940's movies. Also the Commie script writers got their licks in with the Spanish Civil War comments--of course Bogart was an old lefto so he probably relished in it.
Ingrid is so beautiful that I probably should rate this higher. This flick really doesn't wear that well for me.

 | jaywilton (26) 03/10/2006 | For my own taste, this is the earliest Oscar winner that I would call timeless(including Gone With The Wind)-and incidently, this is a classic with no objectional language that hasn't been surpassed and rarely competed with.

 | FranksWildYears (48) 03/09/2006 | A great script and career making performances for Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman (maybe Notorious was a match) and Claude Raines. Supporting cast was excellent, and Michael Cutiz, a director of routine swashbucklers comes through as a solid storyteller. Thank God Ronald Regan was never cast in the lead, even if it is an urban legend that he was ever considered for it.
