10/07/2007 | One of the best restaurants I've been to in S.F., Walzwerk offers a unique East German experience, with kitschy pop-culture relics of the DDR all over the place, like old records and Trabi memorabilia. The selection of unusual (and unusually strong) beers is one major attraction, as are the leggy dominatrix-types who run the place. Unfortunately, I never made it to the Walzwerk enough while I was in S.F. because it's in the Mission, and I tend to forget about German food when I head to the Mission.
