It's best to just buy some cleaning stuff at the pharmacy instead.

Could it work? I don't know, but I can't see why you'd WANT to try this. Your ear generally can take care of itself, for the average person. If you're building up an excessive amount of ear wax, go see a doctor. There are safe and effective treatments they can suggest for you. Studies seem to find that the debris that the candle supposedly pulls out is generated with or without an ear present, which suggests that that candle isn't doing jack. Sure, you can go ahead and try it. But, as the article on WebMD (http://www.webmd.com/content/article/116/112130.htm) points out, it's pretty stupid to light a candle just inches from your ear!
