Although fictional,the Author A.Murray had spent a lot of time with Jazz musicians from the era he writes of.This is a delightful book infused with smoky clubs and hard-core musicians.The central character is a journeyman and we follow him as he earns his laurels.Very believable and the kind of book that takes you to the time and place it speaks of.
