McDermott cues have been making outstanding cues and providing superb service for decades. I knew Jim McDermott and many of his employees when Jim's whole family were still actively involved with his Menomonee Falls, WI based facility. He (and most of his employees) had a very keen craftsman's eye for quality in cuemaking. Many of his employees from years ago are still with the company and have maintained those very high standards. I've owned many McDermott cues and have always been impressed by their "solid but soft" hit and feel of their classic wood to wood joint. I've owned a couple of their steel-jointed cues also, and those seem to have a bit of a harder hit. McDermott cues have also been a constant leaders in finish and design also. I think they were the first to utilize a modern electrotatic finishing spray booth that put a deep durable finish on their cues. McDermott Cues have had VERY innovative inlay/ringwork designs though the years also. I loved Jim McDermott's D-line designs from the early 80's and his designer, Roy Nehs' innovative use of CNC inlays in their innovative ringwork and inlay work from beyond then. When they developed new ways to emblish cues with art "transfers" all I could say was WOW! I'm not certain who their designer is now. All in all they are great cues for the money.
