Some of this is the result of our wasteful lifestyle,much of it is due to price gouging.The energy business has been largely deregulated by pro-corporate politicos and every disaster is seen as an opportunity to rob the working class.

upsetting for us trying to figure out how to come with more and more cash to pay for the utility bills. in the winter months it just about kills us.we live in Michigan so for at least seven months out of the year we have no choice but to depend on a way for heat to our house. we are on one of those budget plans where you pay the same amount every month so we do not get lambasted in the winter months. just a few years ago it would have been about 75.00 a month. now they send a letter a few months ago that we are paying $122.00 a month.it is hard trying to juggle our little budget to accomadte this. no one wants their heat turned off in the dead of winter.
