I can see how this can be scary. There are wild ideologies on both sides of the spectrum.

If nothing is actually wrong, how can anything be right? Sounds like firm ground to establish any lasting civilization upon...

Seldom is there a difficult moral decision made where the choices have either unambiguously good or unambiguously evil results. If this was the case, they wouldn't be difficult decisions. Sometimes it is simply necessary to choose between the lesser of two evils. Denying this is denying that the world is inherently imperfect.

Embrace it or enjoy getting ulcers. . .killing is prohibited in daily life but okay in war, 50 years ago it was okay to segregate people by race, 100 years ago it was okay that women couldn't vote, 700 years ago many in Western Civ. thought that the sun was the center of the universe, and in 1776 a few thought that it was time to not be ruled by an antiquated English monarchy. . .the only constant in civilization is the re-examination of values and morals. Deal with it or sit by and remain lost. . .that this concept is so terrifying to some people is just plain hilarious. . .

If truth is not terribly important, and right and wrong are considered to mostly be spread into different shades of gray, how can society move forward cohesively and determine the standards for conduct of its citizens? This is the hole we are currently staring down. America is preparing to leap into the abyss of Third World standards. The real legacy of the Clinton Administration will be ultimately determined by how far standards continue to disintegrate over the next generation.
