 | Drummond (54) 04/26/2006 | Also disappearing farmland to building tracts - in the valley of California. That valley can feed the whole country, but the farmland is being ploughed over.

 | Molfan (57) 03/18/2006 | It makes me feel bad that my own kids will never see all the farms and open woods I saw all of the time growing up. now a lot of the farm land or other open spaces have malls, businesses, restarants and fancy houses for the yuppies to live. the nice small towns are going away and being taken over by new homes and businesses driving up taxes and overcrowding the small town schools.it is just too bad those days are over. those old charming buildings are being torn down for posh new businesses. i guess I am being nostalgic but there was a lot of nice things I had as a kids that my own will never know about.

 | DumbBlondeCowgirl (23) 03/18/2006 | Its already happened where I live. all the cows and horses are gone. Its all Starbucks and Targets now. Don't get me wrong, I like Starbucks, and Target, but theres no scenery. I hate that. I like living in the country. I like acres of land and mountains on the horizon. And thick woods. I like lakes. Theres nothing left.

 | Vudija (92) 03/17/2006 | This scares me because this is helping to increase global warming problems, that are already causing some major problems as it is. Besides, I'm getting tired of highways and high rises going up in quaint little towns. I'm not a big city grl,a nd would actually like to have a place to live (outside of a city) come the next 40 years or so. Then again; I'm more worried about the effect it will have on future generations.
