One of the many reasons I would never consider living in Florida. I've heard nothing but negative things in regards to employment down there. Now that the cost of living is almost parralell to the Northeast and West Coast yet crappy wages, I'd have to say no. This is a nice state for vacation, that's it.

As I mentioned to garage (through a personal message) after he suggested this: I know a thing or two about this topic. This is the very reason I quit my first job. I don't remember how, but I came to find that boys in my entry-level position, were being paid over a 1/hr more than I was. I didn't mention how it tied into being over-worked. I was feeling upset as it was, but later realized that the guys weren't even doing the jobs they were paid to do, rather they slacked off and flirted with customers all day. I was working so hard, because I was being forced to take care of their slack, rather than them being forced to work or risk being fired. When I finally quit; I added this into my 2 weeks notice, as I knew that it was mandatory for it to be sent to their central head-office. Last I heard, the employer had been fired less than a week after I quit, and rumor had it that I was the reason. I don't know hw true that is, but I feel no remorse for standing up for myself.
