 | Scuta5 (5) 06/24/2008 | Sexism. why does that even exist. also rascism... hope i spelled that right. anyway. why can't we just accept each other as equals. so what if that person is a different color, that doesn't mean u should make fun of them. gay, lesbian, i don't like those words. just leave people alone. I'm not very strong, but i still like playing sports. well most of the time. We are human beings, can't we just accept each other. like so what if some1 else likes dating the same sex they are. that is their choice not your choice. If only we could put aside differences, i believe the world would be a better place. Also the same with religion, you can't make people believe in what you believe, i know others believe in different things but still.

 | armi (0) 12/04/2006 | i cant stand it how all the guys at school think girls are only objects that are there for sex and showing off.
most guys treat the girls who arent pretty and popular like they arent worthy of existence. they push them around, throw stuff at them and treat them like shit.
i am an australian girl with darker skin because i am half middle eastern. 90% of the racism ive recieved is from guys

 | CherrySoda99 (29) 05/31/2005 | This is a big problem in schools. Lots of guys are going around saying Girls belong in the kitchen, and girls go around saying Guys are all mindles jocks that don't care about anything. Being in a co-ed gymclass is really hard too, because playing sports, you're on the same team as the guys, and I'm not overly athletic, so I can't keep up with some of them.

 | Seraph (8) 10/09/2004 | Sexism goes both ways; men are discriminated against as well. Think of this: In the event that your child got lost at the park at night, would you advise them to seek help from a man or a woman? With some reason, men aren't as trusted as women. This works against women in that cases of female murderers receive more press (and some may argue they are punished more severely), even though they're vastly more scarce than cases of male murderers.

 | kamylienne (77) 09/06/2004 | Certainly, with various biological differences, women and men are going to have different strengths and weaknesses, but it doesn't make either gender better or worse than the other. Sexism does exist, but I think it's a bigger issue in other countries (where women are treated as property and a girl can get acid thrown in her face if her father displeases someone else, for example) than in the U.S. That's something to worry about.

 | numbah16tdhaha (147) 09/06/2004 | It has been proven that some jobs can't be done by most women (and some men, you pansies) but I think we are looking at a pretty level playing field. On a related subject, chivalry is mostly dead because feminists killed it.

 | jgls (12) 09/05/2004 | i am probably going to be roasted for my opinion, but i don't think men and women are equal. men and women are different and i act differently when i am with them. i allow women to pass first, i carry heavy things for women, and i compliment women on their appearance when it is more attractive than usual. i do not do these things for men and i will not start doing so. in most cases i will not tell dirty jokes in front of women, use profanity, and i certainly won't break wind. my workplace consists of about 85% women, most of my co-workers are women, my boss is a woman, my previous three bosses have been women, and my boss' boss is a woman. i also have a woman doctor and a woman dentist and i am most pleased with the treatment i receive from both of them. most of these women get paid the same amount i do or more, and i don't think their gender in any way has any effect on their success. this is not to say that sexism doesn't exist because it probably does, but i think it happens less frequently that most people think it does. if you asked the same question 20 years ago i most likely would have given a different response, but i see sexism as a very minor problem in today's society.

 | ClassicTVFan47 (36) 08/29/2004 | Positive sexism (most women are beautiful, compassionate, pleasant) is not the problem. However, negative sexism runs rampant in today's society. Women are just as capable as men, and are certiantly not less intelligent than us males. In fact, many women I know are smarter than most other males I know! I find it highly disturbing the ways some punk men treat the fairer sex.

 | Cindyo (10) 08/13/2004 | If it is equal for men and women, then why are women who receive the same amount of education as a guy still get paid less than him?

 | personwithcomment (0) 08/10/2004 | For those of you who don't know the difference between the way women and men are treated in this society: only10% of all those with anorexia or bulemia are men, see http://www.anred.com/stats.html. Women make at most 80 cents to the dollar on average in jobs. See http://usgovinfo.about.com/cs/censusstatistic/a/womenspay.htm. Plus, the way womens' bodies are displayed in magazines, on television, etc. We're like dolls. And when I'm walking down the street, at least five guys a day are whistling or shouting something rude. A woman is reminded every day that she is a woman, and what her place in this society is.
