I have to agree with jgls on this.  I have kids, but I know that you need to make that choice ~ stay home or go to work.  I do not believe in "holding the job" for 6 months for maternity leave.  The other guy needing that job might just be a dad (or mom) trying to support THEIR kids.

i have mixed feelings on this one. on one hand i don't think that a woman should lose her job or lose a promotion because she chooses to have a child. on the other hand i think that the employer should be given the option of hiring the person best suited for the position. if a woman is pregnant she may not be the best person for the job because of her unavailibility.
