 | Djahuti (54) 03/20/2006 | Recorded in August of 1972 in Los Angeles for a movie of the same title, this is one powerful collection of soul, funk and R&B played live and for real by some of the great musicians of that era.It kicks off with the astoundingly talented Staple Singers,on to Eddie Floyd followed by Carla and Rufus Thomas,The Bar Kays,Albert King and the Soul Children. It ends with Isaac Hayes doing "Ain't no Sunshine".There are some truly "SMOKIN" renditions of the songs and this is an exceptionally fine live recording with brilliant performers giving it their "All".
